Why Get Involved?

Because you will make a difference and help kids with cancer get "Back on Track".

More than 800 children in Australia are diagnosed with cancer each year. Children often require a long recovery period as a result of demanding treatment such as radiotherapy or chemotherapy or a bone marrow transplant.

Recovering from a transplant can mean up to two years away from school. Imagine how far behind young people are in their schooling and social development as a result of treatment.

Fight Cancer's Back on Track program works with the student's school, teachers, peers and medical staff to enable young Australians fighting cancer to stay connected with their school community and helps avoid the isolation long absences from school can cause.

Back on Track gives hope for a brighter future for young Australians with cancer.

"The Back on Track program has helped me in so many ways. I'm very thankful to be involved in this program as I want to do well in school - now more than ever. Having leukaemia has made me appreciate many things others take for granted. I couldn't believe I actually missed going to school, but I did! Thanks to the Fight Cancer Foundation, I'm now Back on Track."
