The names you see in lights below are selected for their Footy Colours Day spirit, passionate display of colour and ability to kick goals against cancer as a team. Well done to our winners!

FOOTY COLOURS DAY CHAMPIONS

Taking home the top spot in 2023, team Symal; made up of Symal Infrastructure VIC, Symal Infrastructure NSW, Symal Contractors, Symal Solutions, Wamarra, Sycle, Gramption Excavations, Symal Group 2023 and Incore, SMASHED their fundraisig targets, raising their goal more than once and bringing home a total of $183,851!

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

Optimum Health Solutions entered Footy Colours Day in style, with 12 clinics in NSW and TAS participating in fundraising for the first time, exceeding their target of $1000, raising $1150 from staff and client donations!

COACHES AWARD

Plan B Group is at it again with another phenomenal Footy Colours Day in 2023. The committement to cause and vibrance of their celebrations have made an impact on the Fight Cancer Foundation Team, so much so we have awarded them our coverted Coaches Award for 2023. 

OUTSTANDING TEAM PERFORMANCE

Symal smashed their fundraising targets this year, winning our Outstanding Team Performance award by having the highest number of individual donations to their online team fundraising page of any of our Workplace fundraisers. 

MOST IMPROVED TEAM

The team from Monadelphous returned in 2023 to more than doube their fundriasing efforts from 2022. Congratulations for coming back with a bang!

MOST ADAPTIVE GAMEPLAY

Who doesn't love a bootcamp raising funds to help kids fight cancer?! We sure do! And Anytime Fitness Ferntree Gully hosted another of their famed Footy Colours Day bootcamps this year, winning the welldeserved award for Most Adaptive Game Play.

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

First timers, Reddam House Primary School, has taken out the Rookie of the Year award for our school fundraisers, congratulations!

OUTSTANDING TEAM PERFORMANCE

Happy Hearts Academy took home our Outstanding Team Performance award by having the most individual donations to their online fundraising page. Showing that together, we can make a big difference in the lives of kids fighting cancer.

COME BACK TEAM OF THE YEAR

In recognition of returning to Footy Colours Day in 2023, OneSchool Global Melton has been awarded our Comeback Team of the Year award! Returning to fundraising in style and smashing their previous fundraising results. 

MOST ADAPTIVE GAMEPLAY

Calvin Christian School in Tasmania took home the award for Outstanding Team Performance for their lunch time BBQ entertainment. Feature food, 'kick-to-kick' and even a puppet show! We loved their creativity in extending the Footy Colours Day theme in new ways.

FIRST ON GROUND

Fitzroy North Primary School made a strong start to fundraising, being the first School and team participating in Footy Colours Day to raise $2,200 providing researchers with essential medical equipment & technology to help discover less invasive treatments and develop more life-saving cures for cancer.

COACHES AWARD

Each year, Malvern Central School returns to Footy Colours Day and continues to raise funds to help kids fight cancer. In acknowledgement of their long standing support, Fight Cancer Foundation has awarded the with the 2023 Coaches Award.

FIRST ON GROUND

The North Port Hotel hosted their Footy Colours Day event on Grand Final Saturday. Bringing home our First on Ground award by being the first team to raise over $2,200 in our Individuals, Family & Friends category.

The fundrasing doesn't stop here, give a round of aplause for the 2022 Hall of Fame champions. 

Team Spirit Award

ST MARY'S PRIMARY SCHOOL, SALE

This year’s Team Spirit Award goes to the extraordinary team at St Mary’s Primary School in Sale, Victoria. With the students running a special hot dog day, and the whole school donning their footy colours, St Mary’s Primary School in Sale showed exactly the sort of team spirit Footy Colours Day is all about, and are deservedly awarded the team spirit award for 2022.

Leadership Award

PLAN B GROUP

The Leadership Award for 2022 is awarded to the magnificent team at Plan B Group. For the past few years Plan B has been a major supporter of Footy Colours Day, and in 2022 they went above and beyond, raising over $28,000 to help support Fight Cancer Foundation’s education support programs.




Most Adaptive Gameplay

MASS RESOURCES & ENERFLOW MINING SERVICES

The award for Most Adaptive Gameplay goes to the team at Mass Resources & Enerflow Mining Services. Not only were they incredible contributors to the Footy Colours Day team, the superstars at Enerflow customised one of their mining buckets with Fight Cancer Foundation and Footy Colours Day logos, to show their awesome support to Footy Colours Day in 2022, and beyond.

Outstanding Team Performance

DERNANCOURT KINDERGARTEN

The award for an Outstanding Team Performance goes to Dernancourt Kindergarten. Hosting a ‘Footy Colours Week’ dedicated to kindy friend Asher, Dernancourt put in an amazing effort to host such a wonderful event. Participating in ball games and undertaking many colour based activities the kindergarten community raised over $2600, to help support kids with cancer.



Rookie of the Year

PAPERCUT SOFTWARE

The 2022 Rookie of the Year goes to the amazing team at Papercut Software. With sports trivia, an AFL grand final themed lunch, and all the snacks fitting a Footy Colours Day, the team at Papercut raised almost $2000 in their first ever Footy Colours Day. Remarkable effort from the team, and a worthy winner of this year’s Rookie of the Year. 

Coaches Award

ENGADINE HIGH SCHOOL

The 2022 Footy Colours Day Coaches Award goes to the champions at Engadine High School. Engadine held a fun packed Footy Colours Day, with a soccer competition held at lunch time with students paying a registration fee and including a staff member in their team. Hot dogs and drinks were sold by the school’s Social Justice Action group. The school also gained the generous support of the Rotary Club of Engadine who made a contribution to their fundraising efforts.  Marvellous effort by the team at Engadine!

The tremendous support from schools and workplaces across Australia was beyond incredible, with close to 1500 Footy Colours Day events taking place throughout September. However, only one team can be named as the team of the year for 2022… 

Team of The Year

Symal

With another phenomenal year, these absolute champions have yet again led the way as Footy Colours Day’s top fundraiser. With sausage sizzles held across the country, the group raised an overwhelming amount of almost $70,000 to support Fight Cancer Foundation’s education support programs. The team at Symal are incredible supporters of Fight Cancer Foundation, and Footy Colours Day, and are more than deserved winners of Team of The Year for 2022.

In the spirit of reconciliation, Fight Cancer Foundation acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
